Mr Theo Swanepoel: Biography.
Theo qualified with the degree BChD in 1992 from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, where he studied as a military student. Theo left the Defence Force and bought his first dental practice in Johannesburg.
Since 1998 he decided to limit his practice to Orthodontics and focus on exclusively providing orthodontic treatment, after six years in practice he realised that this is the part of dentistry he enjoys the most. It is a non-invasive area of practice that changed people’s lives; everyone is just so amazed at their new smiles that it is a pleasure to work.
Theo relocated to the United Kingdom in 2001 and worked in Essex at a group of practices, dedicated to Orthodontics. In 2006 he began working within Orthodontic practices in Surrey.
In 2011 he started a UK based Master’s Degree in Orthodontics to supplement his considerable (almost 20 years) experience in providing orthodontic care, successfully achieving the Qualification in late 2017. As a Dentist with considerable experience in providing orthodontic treatment, Theo has been welcomed to the team here at West Street.
He is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and the British Dental Association. He is also certified in three different Lingual Orthodontic systems (hidden braces) and in Invisalign. He has extensive experience with all the different types of braces available today, including self-ligating systems and participates enthusiastically in continuing education.
He is married to Cherie’, an Orthodontic Therapist, and they have two boys, Marco and James. He enjoys photography, activities with the children and reading whenever he gets a chance.
